Louis Vuitton is the most luxurious designer brand in the world with a long-held reputation of style and quality leadership that dates back from 1854.

Centuries have gone by yet why do women remain to adore this elite piece of handbag?

Pioneer

Louis Vuitton handbags were first introduced in the market in 1892 after almost 40 years when luggage genius Louis Vuitton successfully spruced up the European luggage making industry by creating the first flat-topped trunk. The lightweight and airtight luggage case was remarkably designed in a distinctive grey Trianon canvas.

The first line of handbags sports the beige and burgundy “Damier Canvas” checkered pattern, which Louis Vuitton created himself in 1888 with the help of his son Georges.

Louis Vuitton, however, died the same year his handbags, which first carry the “marque L. Vuitton déposée” trademark, become novelty fashion accessory item in Paris.

The handbags were such a hit that fake Louis Vuitton handbags started to flourish as early before the close of the 19th century.

Inheriting the creative genius of his father, Georges came up with the now known classic monogram canvas with the LV and flower design to combat counterfeiting of their popularly growing products especially the handbag lines.

Innovative

Even after the death of Louis Vuitton, product lines carrying his name never ceased to capture the hearts and fancy of travel enthusiasts and handbag aficionados.
The young Vuitton generations that followed and took over the business through the times, carried on with an innovative spirit to keep their loyal and elite patrons and even gain the bigger global market.

Georges, for instance, has successfully produced over 700 different innovative designs of Louis Vuitton product lines including its precious handbags after 43 years of leading the company.

Born under his time were the classic Keepall bag, which is still being produced today as luggage and handbag items; the exotic Louis Vuitton exotic crocodile and elephant leather-made handbags; and the champagne bag Nóe and the Speedy bag, which are both popular handbag lines today.

With these product lines, the company sustained its significant share in the international high-end market when Louis Vuitton started opening stores abroad in 1914 in the cities of New York, Bombay, Washington, London, Alexandria and Buenos Aires.

Gaston-Louis, who took over the company when his father Georges died in 1936, revamped the signature Louis Vuitton monogram canvas giving a more supple texture to its purse, wallets and handbag lines.

With newly enhanced product lines, the company managed to penetrate the very lucrative market of Japan in 1978, which is considered as Louis Vuitton’s most successful global venture. Tokyo and Osaka outlets garnered hefty sales record comprising almost 50 percent of the total worldwide sale of the company.

Until its merger with leading champagne and brandy manufacturers Moet Chandon and Hennessy in 1987, Louis Vuitton remained in the picture of stylishly innovative designer handbags.

The merger, in fact, created the largest luxury good fashion house in the world under the holding name of LVMH.

More innovative endeavors followed from creation of new original monogram design lines for the handbags such as the “Graffiti” monogram pattern of modern well-known fashion designers Stephen Sprouse and Marc Jacobs, who later collaborated with Japanese design guru Takashi Murakami to create the Monogram Multicolore canvas.

Murakami then went solo to introduce the limited edition of Cherry Blossom pattern in 2003 then launched the Monogram Cerises pattern two years later.

The company, moreover, also redeveloped more of its classic designs such the Damier Azur, a modern version of the original Damier.

Quality

Louis Vuitton handbags will not only get out of style but are also designed to last a lifetime making the thousand-dollar investment more worthwhile for women who wish to exude a timeless fashion sense.

Buying authentic Louis Vuitton handbags, however, also goes beyond keeping elegance. Its also one way of hailing the craftsmen who poured in their state-of-the-art workmanship skill, which was handed from generation to generation, to create an impeccable piece of handwork. The use of exclusive and exquisite materials only comes second in Louis Vuitton production.

Louis Vuitton handbags are mostly carried by the upscale Hollywood stars on moments both on and off the camera and even the richest personality in the world. The kind of market sophistication LV handbag achieves gives women, who can afford it, somehow gives a celebrity appeal to them.

Uma Thurman, Jennifer Lopez, Kate Moss, and Naomi Campbell were among the celebrities who got to endorse Louis Vuitton.

But chic and trendsetter stars like Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Angelina Jolie, and Carmen Electra are also spotted carrying Louis Vuitton handbags for their personal satisfaction.

Louis Vuitton, however, could throw its appreciation to legendary Hollywood actress Audrey Hepburn, who is also known for her regal and classy fashion style, for being the first celebrity to carry the designer handbag on screen in the 1963 film Charade.

A woman could cite a million reasons on why they itch to sport a Louis Vuitton handbag. Maybe, it’s simply just Louis Vuitton.
